For those of you who have been asking about the future of Postscript, I have decided to call it a day.
For more than a decade on CTV, I was privileged to enjoy a weekly soapbox.
We live in a place and time where truth is torqued and ideology wins over common sense.
As Churchill said so many years ago, “A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on”.
Commenting on Quebec, all these years, has often been like shooting fish in a barrel. The script is almost written for you by a cast of characters from a travelling vaudeville show.
After an unexpected departure from CTV, Postscript continued online for a couple of years.
Your support has been wonderful and truly appreciated.
Postscript was the idea of my friend and former news director Mike Piperni. He seemed to think I had something to say on just about anything. I always valued his guidance and am grateful for it.
I also must thank Dave Maynard whose idea it was to create Postscript Version 2.0. Dave shot, edited and produced our online version. Thanks to his skill and talent, I have to admit ,it looked better than ever.
I may pop up from time to time when the mood strikes and a good skewering is needed. But for now it’s “adios”.
The last line I will leave again to Churchill.
“The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is”.
Thank you and stay safe.
